Osteopathy vs. Chiropractic and Physiotherapy
What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy differs from other manual therapies in its wide range of treatment techniques: from very gentle techniques to manipulative techniques. This treatment method is therefore very suitable for many different complaints
Osteopathy is a manual method of examination and treatment that focuses on identifying and treating dysfunctions in the mobility of the musculoskeletal system (joints and tissues), organs and tissues of the body.
Osteopathy aims to optimise the patient’s overall health by addressing the underlying causes of physical complaints.
Osteopathy vs. Chiropractic and Physiotherapy
Chiropractic mainly treats the spine with manipulations and originated from osteopathy.
Physiotherapy is mainly concerned with local treatments and rehabilitation.
Osteopathy looks for the underlying cause of a problem and treats three body systems: the postural and supporting apparatus (parietal system), the internal organs and their mobility (visceral system) and the mobility of the cranial bones and sacrum (craniosacral system).
