Osteopathy vs. Chiropractic and Physiotherapy
Was is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy differs from other manual therapies by its wide range of treatment techniques: from very gentle techniques (craniosacral techniques) to manipulative techniques (chiropractic techniques). This treatment method is therefore very well-suited for a variety of different complaints.
The primary goal of osteopathy is to restore the mobility, elasticity, and functions of various body structures in relation to one another. Biomechanical and myofascial conflicts are treated using appropriate manual techniques.
Was is Craniosacral Therapy?
The gentle osteopathic techniques used in craniosacral therapy activate the body’s self-healing abilities and normalize the functional balance of the individual. This treatment is well-suited to relieve tension caused by prolonged stress situations, whether due to emotional causes or as a result of an accident or a long illness.
Osteopathy versus Chiropractic and Physiotherapy
Chiropractic is a form of manual therapy that focuses primarily on the treatment of the spine. It involves specific manipulation techniques to correct misalignments of the vertebrae and improve the function of the nervous system. Chiropractic originated from osteopathy and shares some of its basic principles, but it differs through its specific focus on the spine and the use of manipulative techniques.
Physiotherapy is a medical discipline aimed at improving or restoring a patient’s physical functionality and mobility. It utilizes a variety of techniques and methods to alleviate pain, increase mobility, improve strength, and promote overall physical performance.
Unlike osteopathy and craniosacral therapy, the costs of chiropractic and physiotherapy are covered by basic insurance.
